The away support might give Roy Keane their undivided loyalty, but Marcus Evans is a businessman who will be looking at the season ticket renewal in-tray with interest. A point for Ipswich at Swansea, the Arsenal of the Championship, is not to be sniffed at. Evans, and perhaps more importantly Keane, will be hoping it helps sell those tickets for the 2010/11 campaign.

It was an afternoon for equalling records at the Liberty Stadium with Town equalling their season best for draws, today’s was their 18th, and Swansea keeping their 22nd clean sheet of the campaign. While it was a tight game with very few chances to write about, Roy Keane was pleased that his game plan of stifling Swansea’s free-flowing football worked.

Mischievous national newspaper reports have this morning claimed that Roy Keane will be sacked as manager of Ipswich Town if his side fail to beat Swansea City this afternoon. The smart money is on the owner taking stock in the summer, seeing what Keane’s plans are for next year and perhaps seeing what alternatives are out there.

“We have to bounce back from what was a poor night against Plymouth. I’m sure Paulo (Sousa) will be saying the same thing after their result and it should be a good game, especially the way Swansea play.” Roy Keane is predicting a difficult match at the Liberty Stadium and it could come down to whose pride has been hurt most following a miserable midweek.

While maybe not admitting it in public, Roy Keane must be harbouring some worries about the form of his key players. Influential midfielder Grant Leadbitter’s confidence seems to have taken a massive knock while the calls for skipper Jon Walters to be rested seem to be getting louder and louder with every game. But can Keane do without either for a tricky trip to Swansea?

Alf has backed Roy Keane all the way and is convinced that Roy can bring the glory days back to Portman Road however on this showing Alf’s faith is being severely tested. He has criticised his players for making the same mistakes time and again yet the coaching staff don’t seem to be learning from theirs.

Some of the side’s recent star names, including Delaney and Jack Colback, had an unusually poor night but it was the lack of any real flair football that got most fans back up. Town fans were quick to vent their anger booing the players off at half time and then again at full time, only saving some appreciation for Plymouth boss Paul Mariner who enjoyed a triumphant return to Portman Road.
