The away support might give Roy Keane their undivided loyalty, but Marcus Evans is a businessman who will be looking at the season ticket renewal in-tray with interest. Evans, and perhaps more importantly Keane, will be hoping it helps sell those tickets for the 2010/11 campaign.

March 27th, 2010 by Dave Gooderham | Comments Off

It was an afternoon for equalling records at the Liberty Stadium with Town equalling their season best for draws, today’s was their 18th, and Swansea keeping their 22nd clean sheet of the campaign. Could a trip to the Liberty Stadium be Roy Keane’s swansong as national newspaper vultures start to soar?

March 27th, 2010 by Dave Gooderham | Comments Off

Mischievous national newspaper reports have this morning claimed that Roy Keane will be sacked as manager of Ipswich Town if his side fail to beat Swansea City this afternoon. The smart money is on the owner taking stock in the summer, seeing what Keane’s plans are for next year and perhaps seeing what alternatives are out there.

“We have to bounce back from what was a poor night against Plymouth. I’m sure Paulo (Sousa) will be saying the same thing after their result and it should be a good game, especially the way Swansea play.” Roy Keane is predicting a difficult match at the Liberty Stadium and it could come down to whose pride has been hurt most following a miserable midweek.

After Portman Road watches another dour display, the question has to be asked… where has all the football gone?

March 25th, 2010 by Dave Gooderham | Comments Off

Fans are divided by what is more important, three points or the performance on the pitch. But with Ipswich Town almost safe, and after some truly woeful displays in recent weeks, most supporters would like to finally see a combination of both.

Sousa calls for his shot-shy play-off hopefuls to show an immediate reaction. Roy Keane wouldn’t mind one of those as well.

While maybe not admitting it in public, Roy Keane must be harbouring some worries about the form of his key players. Influential midfielder Grant Leadbitter’s confidence seems to have taken a massive knock while the calls for skipper Jon Walters to be rested seem to be getting louder and louder with every game. But can Keane do without either for a tricky trip to Swansea?

Plymouth far from “spectacular”. Try energetic, disciplined and dour…but most importantly successful

March 24th, 2010 by Alf | 2 Comments »

Alf has backed Roy Keane all the way and is convinced that Roy can bring the glory days back to Portman Road however on this showing Alf’s faith is being severely tested. He has criticised his players for making the same mistakes time and again yet the coaching staff don’t seem to be learning from theirs.
